Job Title: Registered Nurse – ICU

Facility: Hays Medical Center

Location: 2220 Canterbury Dr, Hays, KS 67601

Position Details

  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Days – 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Unit: 6100 ICU
  • Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week

Compensation For 40 Hours

  • Weekly Gross: $2,760.00 Per Week
  • On W2(Taxable): $800.00 Per Week ($20/hour)
  • Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,960.00 Per Week
  • OT after 40 hours: $30/hour

Compensation for 48 hours = $3392/Week

Job Duties

  • Deliver critical care to patients in the ICU with consistent monitoring and evaluation.
  • Administer medications and manage ventilators, drips, and IVs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure effective care planning.
  • Monitor patient vitals and report changes to physicians promptly.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records using Meditech.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year’s ICU experience (must be able to start IVs)
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS (Required)
  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted
  • Weekend Requirement: Weekend rotation required
  • On-Call Requirement: None
  • Floating: Required within scope if needed in other units
  • Block Scheduling: Not accepted beyond 3–4 shifts
  • License: Active license required (pending not accepted)

Local Rule: Not accepting candidates within 45 miles (local travelers not accepted) Compensation for 48 hours = $3392/Week
