TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse in the ICU for a 13-week assignment in Marion, IL. The role features 36 hours per week, with 12-hour night shifts in a mixed ICU/step-down unit and ICU nurse ratios of 2:1.
Travelers should be prepared to float to step-down if needed and support the unit during peak periods. Requirements include an active IL RN license (temp IL license accepted), BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and a minimum of 2 years ICU experience (3 preferred).

REQUIRED: NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong neuro assessment skills. Tele/EKG interpretation (will take an exam first day), ETT/vent management (RT available), Initiate/titrate (sedatives, paralytics, cardiac drips, vasoactive, insulin, etc.), sepsis protocols/care, post ROSC therapeutic hypothermia protocol. Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!
PREFERRED: tPa administration/assessments, massive transfusion (Belmont).
18 beds. Patients are a mix of ICU and step-down level of care. Does charge nurse take patients? YES
