TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Marion, Illinois. The nurse will deliver critical care in a mixed ICU/step-down unit, with 12-hour night shifts and 36 hours per week, supporting patients with complex neuro and cardiac needs.

Requirements include IL licensure (active or temp), AHA BLS/ACLS and NIHSS, plus 2+ years ICU experience. The role involves weekends/holidays rotation and potential float to step-down care as needed.

Qualifications

• Current IL nursing license; active or temp IL license accepted.
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification or ability to perform NIHSS.

Responsibilities

• Provide ICU nursing care with neuro assessment and sepsis protocols.
• Monitor patients on ETT/vent and administer cardiac drips and vasoactive medications.
• Follow unit ratios and guidelines; participate in float requirements as needed; ensure patient safety.

UNIT: ICU - mixed ICU/SD unit

Required Certs: Must have current IL license (will accept an active temp IL License). AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.

Minimum Experience: Must have 2 years of ICU experience, prefer 3. 1 travel assignment required. NO first-time travelers.

Float Requirement:

if needed, would float to step down level care

On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A

Weekend/Holiday Requirement: every other weekend/every other holiday rotation

Ratios (ICU: 2:1, Stepdown: 3:1)

Skillset:

REQUIRED: NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong neuro assessment skills. Tele/EKG interpretation (will take an exam first day), ETT/vent management (RT available), Initiate/titrate (sedatives, paralytics, cardiac drips, vasoactive, insulin, etc.), sepsis protocols/care, post ROSC therapeutic hypothermia protocol. Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills

Unit Information: 18 beds. Patients are a mix of ICU and step-down level of care.

Scrubs: Navy Blue
