Unit / Patient Population

24-bed CCU/ICU
Typically 8-16 ICU patients + ~8 Stepdown patients daily
Traveler must be comfortable taking both ICU and Stepdown assignments
Ratios: 1:1-1:3
Cerner EMR

Requirements

2+ years experience
First-time travelers accepted
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI
Strong ICU experience with:
- Ventilators & trachs
- Titrating drips
- CRRT
- Balloon pumps
- Swan-Ganz
- Chest tubes
- Tube feeds
- DKA management

Patient Acuity / Procedures

Ventilator-dependent critical care
Sepsis
ECMO
CRRT
Post-PCI/cardiac procedures
Pulmonary embolism
Post-thrombectomy & post-stroke patients
Balloon pumps and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
No open thoracic cases

Schedule

Days: 6:45 AM-7:15 PM
No more than every other weekend
No call
Holidays based on unit needs
Block scheduling considered
RTO requires manager approval

Floating

Required to float within scope as needed
May float to PCU, Med/Surg, and Tele
