PHP is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Job Description & Requirements

• Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years RN exp in ICU (Resource Team)

• Will you accept a first-time traveler? Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team)
• Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
• Stroke, Heart Failure, Chest pain, Respiratory illness, Surgical and Trauma, SCI, Respiratory Failure patients requiring high flow oxygen or ventilator, DSD, patient requiring fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA,
  
  

Respiratory illnesses, GI Disorders and infections, Liver Failure, AKI/CKD

• Patient Ratios:
• RN: 1:2-3
• Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)
• Skills required:
• Will require ICU background but comfortability to work PCU, as this is a high acuity Stepdown that resembles a low acuity STICU with ratios of 1:2-3.
• Endotool and insulin drip, vasoactive drips for bedside procedure and recovery, cardiac and Precedex drips, chest tubes, ventilator, monitoring patients on DSD, continuous BiPAP or CPAP
• General RN skillset: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps
• Medication gtt management to include: Vasoactive drips, Precedex, Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF
