Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Float Nurse position available in the healthcare facility's medical-surgical units. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, including those with chronic illnesses, neurological issues, infections, and mental health disorders. The position requires flexibility to float to different medical units and adherence to clinical protocols. The assignment is scheduled to start on 10/05/2026 and conclude on 01/04/2027, with night shifts lasting 12 hours.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid IN state or compact RN license, at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience in a hospital with 450+ beds, one year of experience at a similarly sized facility, BLS certification through the American Heart Association, and minimum of 1.5 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Additional certifications such as ACLS, telemetry monitoring experience, and familiarity with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Float: Float rotation may be required; mainly to other medical units.
• Additional Information: Candidates will undergo an orientation program including hospital and nursing-specific training, along with EPIC charting classes. The position involves assessments, care planning, inter-professional communication, and management of various equipment such as IV pumps, wound vacs, and telemetry monitoring. The role includes work in a fast-paced environment with patient ratios of approximately 1:5-6.
