Job Summary:Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) Nurse position in a magnet-level acute care hospital. This role involves providing specialized cardiac surgical care, focusing on open heart procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), mitral valve replacement, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and atrial septal defect repair. The assignment begins on 10/26/2026 and is scheduled for 10-hour shifts, with a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. The facility requires experienced professionals adept at managing complex cardiac cases within a Level II Trauma environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: 10-hour days, minimum of 40 hours per week

• Required Qualifications: Valid Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license, at least 1 year of recent operating room experience with open heart procedures, certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), proficiency in Epic charting system, and experience with cardiac surgical procedures such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), CABG, and Mitral valve replacement

• Float: Float rotation may be required within scope to meet facility needs

Additional Information

Candidates must be willing to work during designated holidays and include all requested time off during submission. Applicants must have a strong preference for holding an Alaska RN license in hand. Pending licenses are accepted, but a valid Alaska RN license in hand is strongly preferred. The assignment includes guaranteed hours of 70 hours per two weeks, with the possibility of being called off for one 10-hour shift every two weeks. Candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered. All responses to pre-submission questions, including prior experience at a similar facility, are required with the application. References covering at least six months within the last three years are required.
