Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois.

• Shift: 12 hours, nights

Unit Notes:

• 20 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 2:1 depending on patient acuity
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred, CCRN a plus
• Common diagnoses / types of patients: Post-open heart surgical patients – CABG, Valves, CABG/Valve, Dissections, AAA, Vascular procedures, Carotids, post cardiovascular procedures, STEMI, Unstable angina, Unstable N‑STEMI, Cardiogenic Shock, Cardiomyopathy, Targeted Temperature Management (Hypothermia), Transcutaneous pacing, Transvenous pacing, Severe heart failure, TAVRs, cardiac‑related events requiring ICU care, ventilated patients, overflow patients from other ICUs including COVID patients.
• Soon to come: Post VAD placement, Post heart transplant patient

Specialty Intervention Equipment: IABPs, Impellas, Swan Ganz, ECMO, External Pacemakers, CRRT.

Lines: PICC, Midlines, CVC, Swans, Arterial lines (radial and femoral).

Expectations / Must‑have skills: At least 2 solid years of CVICU experience, ability to work at a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment, interpret strips, strong assessment skills, critical thinking, communication, organization, teamwork, compassion, time management, positive attitude and behavior.

Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes.

Common titratable & set‑rate drips: dopamine, dobutamine, levophed, epi, neo, vasopressin, cleviprex, propofol, fentanyl, versed, insulin, heparin, esmolol, and others.
