Job summary

TotalMed Allied seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for an immediate travel assignment in Boston, MA. The NMT will perform scans, administer radiopharmaceuticals, and ensure patient safety during procedures, under radiologist supervision.

A 26-week duration and 40-hour workweeks are indicated. The role requires ARRT (N) and BLS, NMTCB-CNMT certification or state licensing as applicable, and at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year of nuclear medicine experience required.
• Active ARRT (N) credential and BLS required.
• NMTCB-CNMT certification preferred and state licensing as applicable.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Obtain physician approval and signatures for procedures.
• Position patients and prepare them for studies.
• Operate the nuclear medicine scanner or gamma camera.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals under radiologist supervision.
• Assist patients during procedures and monitor safety.
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow radiation safety disposal rules.
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.

We are looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) for an immediate travel opening in Boston, MA. The right NMT must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

As an NMT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Attain required approval and signature by nuclear medicine physicians
• Transfer, position, and instruct patients in preparation for procedures
• Operate the scanner or gamma scintillation camera.
• Perform procedures including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a radiologist
• Provide assistance to patients during procedures
• Ensure the environment is safe at all times for patients and staff by following safety and radiation disposal procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARRT (N) National Certification with registration in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB-CNMT, and state-specific licensing when required.

NMTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. NMTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
