Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Bronx, NY. The right candidate must have 1 year of experience and will work 12-hour days for 34 hours per week, with a tax-free stipend to be determined.

The role involves preparing radiopharmaceuticals, imaging with a scanner, and providing technical support to physicians. Certifications required include BLS, ARRT(N) or NMTCB-CNMT, with state licensing as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of experience.
• Must have BLS, ARRT (N) Certification with Nuclear Medicine registration or NMTCB-CNMT, and state licensing when required.
• NMTs must stand/walk for long periods and have knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• Requirements*: BLS, ARRT (N), NMTCB (CNMT), 2 Years; additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Attain required approval and signature by nuclear medicine physicians
• Transfer, position, and instruct patients in preparation for procedures
• Operate the scanner or gamma scintillation camera
• Perform procedures including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under radiologist supervision
• Provide assistance to patients during procedures
• Ensure safety and radiation disposal procedures for patients and staff
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
