Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Night Shift RN for a SICU/Step Down role at a Level I Trauma Center in Connecticut. Requires 1 year ICU experience and CT/compact RN license. Certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are required.

Epic EMR experience and teaching hospital background preferred. Travel experience is a plus, with housing and licensure support provided. Position features 3x12 night shifts (19:00–07:00) with 1:3 patient ratio, no on-call duties, and a focus on multisystem care in a

Qualifications

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant ICU experience.
• Teaching hospital experience required.
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred.
• Experience with airway management, IV drips, multisystem dysfunction/failure.
• Skills in arterial line management, central line care, ventilator care, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drip titration, and dysrhythmia management/interpretation.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• 1 professional reference required.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit with floating to Step Down as needed.
• 3x12 Night shift schedule (19:00-7:00).
• Patient ratio of 1:3.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Epic EMR used, experience required.
• Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching hospital setting.
• Provide care for ICU and step down patients, including those with complex multisystem conditions.
• Participate in isolation precautions and PPE protocols as required.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted.
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only.
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered (local candidates not accepted).
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler.
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• May be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities.
