Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in Brandon, Florida. The NICU role requires Level 3 NICU experience, NRP and ACLS certifications, and an active RRT license. The shift is nights, 12 hours, 36 hours per week, starting Sep 15, 2026.

The facility uses Meditech and NeoNotes, with a 36-bed Level 3 NICU and a typical two-therapist per shift coverage. Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible for this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in the specialty.
• Level 3 NICU experience required; candidates with 3-5 years of Level 2 NICU experience will be considered.
• NRP certification required (Advanced 9th Edition)
• ACLS certification required
• STABLE certification preferred
• Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)

Responsibilities

• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal respiratory support.
• Manage ventilators using both conventional and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation.
• Administer surfactant and Nitric Oxide as needed.
• Perform blood gas acquisition and interpretation.
• Work independently with strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
