Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a NICU RN with Level II experience for a night shift contract in Indiana. Requires 2 years NICU experience, BLS/NRP, and an Indiana or Compact RN license. Epic EMR experience and a valid driver’s license are required.

The role features a Level II NICU in a community hospital, 7p-7a shifts with flexible 3x12 or 4x12 options, and a weekend shift requirement. Travel perks and comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Indiana or Compact).
• BLS and NRP certification.
• Minimum 2 years NICU experience.
• Experience with neonates 29-34 weeks and >34 weeks gestation.
• Skills in neonatal dosage calculations, APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and phototherapy.
• Experience with respiratory support including CPAP, HFNC, and Vapotherm.
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs, including UAC/UVC lines.
• Driver's license required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Level II NICU setting within a community hospital.
• Typical patient ratio of 1:2, varying with acuity.
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, open to 3x12 or 4x12 arrangements.
• Requires 3 weekend shifts per contract.
• No on-call requirements.
• Floating within scope required as facility needs dictate.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Provide direct care for high-risk neonates, including attending high-risk deliveries.
• Assist with procedures such as lumbar puncture and manage neonatal abstinence syndrome.
• Support breastfeeding and manage breast milk handling and feedings.
• Monitor for neonatal sepsis and implement isolation precautions/PPE as needed.
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) preferred.
• Mother/Baby or postpartum couplet care experience is a plus but not required.
• Scrubs provided by the unit.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
