Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Night Shift NICU RN with AK licensure, NRP and STABLE certification, and 3+ years of NICU experience for an 8-week contract.

12-hour night shifts in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, with weekend and holiday coverage, require on-call and occasional floating between departments. Housing is provided; a vehicle is recommended for winter travel in Alaska.

Qualifications

• Active AK RN license required.
• Current NRP and STABLE certifications required.
• 3+ years of NICU experience required.
• Care for transition and Level 2 NICU acuity patients.
• Experience admitting NICU patients and resuscitating newborns.
• Experience attending deliveries as NICU RN.

Responsibilities

• Night shift in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
• 12-hour night shifts.
• Weekend requirement: 5 shifts in a 6-week cycle.
• Holiday coverage per unit needs.
• Floating to all departments when necessary.
• On-call required, including possible on-call shifts.
• Care for NICU patients including transition and Level 2 acuity.
• Attend deliveries and provide newborn resuscitation as needed.
• Private 1-bedroom housing provided; pets not permitted.
• Vehicle recommended for winter travel.
• Fingerprints mailed to AK Dept of Health within 48 hours of offer.
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be requested, max 4 weekends; submit at application.
• Residence must be 50+ miles outside Fairbanks.
