Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a NICU RN with Level IV experience for a travel assignment in New Orleans, Louisiana. The candidate must have an Active LA or compact RN license, at least two years in a Level IV NICU, and AHA BLS/NRP certifications.

Qualifications

• Active LA or compact RN license required.
• Minimum of 2 years recent Level IV NICU experience.
• American Heart Association certifications in BLS and NRP required.
• PALS certification preferred.
• Experience with neonatal arterial lines required.
• Experience with bedside OR/post‑op care for neonates required.
• Travel and licensure reimbursements available.

Responsibilities

• Care for critically ill neonates in Level IV NICU.
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (18:45–07:15).
• Must be willing to float to the PICU at another campus roughly 4 miles away if census decreases.
• Care includes post‑op and bedside surgical procedures as well as cooling procedures.
• Specialized equipment includes jet ventilators and IV pumps.
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during facility emergency events with an expectation to remain on-site as directed.
• First‑time travelers are accepted for this position.
• Must live at least 65 miles away from the facility; local travelers not accepted.
• Requests for block scheduling are not permitted.
