Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Stepdown position in Charlottesville, VA. This travel assignment requires Epic EMR experience and an active VA or compact RN license.

The role involves caring for neuro trauma, post-neuro ICU transfers, and spine surgery patients in a 12-bed unit with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio. Night shifts are 12 hours, with a 13-week contract and options for 36 or 48 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Active VA or compact RN license (may be pending at submission).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required before start (may be pending).
• Epic EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 12-bed Neuro Stepdown unit using critical care and neuroscience principles.
• Care for neuro trauma, post-neuro ICU transfers, and spine surgery patients.
• Patient ratio typically 1:3 with 3x12 hour night shifts.
• Provide intermediate care for post-ICU, neurological, surgical and neuro trauma patients.
• Floating according to facility policy and observed float rules.
