Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking a travel nurse RN for Med Surg / Telemetry in Wilmington, North Carolina. This role requires patient care across medical/surgical units with telemetry monitoring and rapid response to changes in condition.

The position features 12-hour night shifts, 48 hours per week, a 13-week assignment with floating to related units and weekend rotation. A strong bedside nurse with BLS and NIHSS and 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience is ideal.

Qualifications

• Must hold current RN license and BLS certification.
• Experience in Medical/Surgical or Telemetry required; NIHSS preferred.
• Strong telemetry monitoring and patient assessment skills necessary.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients’ vital signs and telemetry data.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocols, including IV management.
• Provide pre/post-hemodialysis care and manage renal failure patients.
• Administer oxygen and manage non-invasive airway devices.
• Perform wound care and manage wounds care devices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans.

Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires a strong background in managing patients with various medical conditions, utilizing telemetry for monitoring, and delivering high-quality care.

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Contract Length: 36 or 48-hour contracts accepted; longer contracts available through February 27, 2027
• Floating: Required to float to other Medical/Surgical units
• Weekend Rotation: Required to work every other weekend
• Holidays: Must be available to work on holidays
• Maximum RTO: 7 days of RTO per contract
• Patient Ratios: 1:6

Responsibilities

The Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN will be responsible for:

• Monitoring patients’ vital signs and telemetry data to identify and manage dysrhythmias.
• Administering medications and treatments according to protocols, including blood product administration and IV management.
• Providing pre and post-hemodialysis care and managing renal failure patients.
• Administering oxygen and managing non-invasive airway devices.
• Conducting wound care and management, including the use of wound vacs.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.

Required Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Medical/Surgical or Telemetry setting.
• Charge experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical/surgical patient care.
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and emergencies.
• Experience in management and care of feeding tubes, colostomies, and ileostomies.
• Knowledge of high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and BiPAP/CPAP management.

Unit Orientation

A 24-hour orientation will be provided to ensure you are well prepared for your role.

Dress Code

Scrubs: Navy blue or white scrubs are required.
