Job summary

TotalMed Allied seeks a travel MRI Technologist for a 9-week assignment in New York, NY. The role requires 1 year of MRI experience, BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification with MRI registration, and state licensing as needed. Responsibilities include patient prep, safety screening, image acquisition, and collaboration with radiologists.

The position offers 37.5 hours per week with 10-hour day shifts and a tax-free stipend. Travel requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of MRI experience.
• BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging.
• State-specific licensing when required.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required.
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance.
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions.
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Assist radiologist with procedure performance.
• Start IVs, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately.
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration.
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.
