- This position performs MRI procedures ensuring patient safety, accurate imaging, and quality control.
- Responsibilities include patient screening, positioning, operating MRI equipment, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and documenting procedures in the EMR.
- Interviews patient prior to MRI procedure for MRI safety prior to performance of the procedure.
- Ensures patient safety, including correctly identifying every patient using approved two (2) patient identifiers at every point of contact in the MRI suite.
- Explains the MRI process and instructs patient on the procedure to obtain optimal imaging diagnostic results; answers all related questions and responds to patient’s needs or concerns, as required.
- Safely sets-up, operates, and adjusts MRI equipment, selecting proper technical factors to obtain accurate MRI studies; selects software options and imaging parameters, when adjusting an MRI machine; returns equipment to its original location after each scan.
- Ensures safety for patients, operator and visitors within magnetic field zone four (4).
- Prepares patient for radiological procedure by safely positioning patient for MRI scans, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors; monitors patient during scanning.
- Ensures that MRI rooms are clean, organized, and safe for MRI examinations; cleans MRI scanners after each patient use.
- Maintains proper-functioning imaging equipment and performs image quality and calibration tests on equipment, as necessary; reports any malfunction to appropriate staff.
- Maintains Imaging supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies.
- Evaluates images for technical quality and accuracy, ensuring proper identification of all images is recorded, and presents completed images to Radiologist.
- Effectively uses electronic medical records (EMR) to document patient encounters and access pertinent patient data and imaging results; keeps other detailed and accurate patient records and results.
- Performs related work, as assigned.
Job Requirements
- One (1) year of MRI experience.
- Required Skills & Experience : One (1) year of MRI experience, Relevant Equipment.
