Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Kansas City, Missouri. The role requires 1 year of MRI experience, BLS, and ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification with appropriate licensing. Expect alternating 12-hour days, 36 hours per week, and travel support.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and review imaging requests.
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedures.
• Interpret orders from radiologists and explain procedures to patients.
• Position patients and operate MRI equipment per safety regulations.
• Assist radiologists during procedures.
• Start IVs and administer contrast as directed.
• Evaluate image quality and label sequences.
• Load and operate contrast injectors as needed.
• Follow radiation safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and use PACS system.

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a travel job in Kansas City, Missouri.

We are looking for a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Kansas City, MO. The right MRI Tech must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
• Assist radiologist with procedure performance
• Start I.V.s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging, and state-specific licensing when required.

MRI Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
