Travel MRI Technologist

TNAA TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a 13‑week assignment in Tappahannock, Virginia.

Location: Tappahannock, VA

Duration: 13 weeks, 36 hours per week (12‑hour days)

Employment type: Travel

Responsibilities

As an MRI Tech you will be responsible for:

• Use magnetic resonance imaging equipment and ensure images are accurate and passed on to physicians for interpretation.
• Prepare and care for patients undergoing MRI imaging.
• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain procedures to patients.
• Screen patients for MRI safety.
• Interpret doctors' written instructions.
• Position patients for MRI scans with appropriate immobilization and protective equipment.
• Assist radiologist with procedure performance.
• Start IVs, administer contrast media as directed per protocol.
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality and collate processed images.
• Operate power injectors for contrast media administration.
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Use the McKesson PACS system.

Qualifications

Must have at least 1 year of experience, BLS, and ARRT (MR) or ARRMIT national certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging, plus any state‑specific licensing as required.

Must be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean or stoop without difficulty, and possess solid knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

Benefits

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
