Required Qualifications
- Completion of a radiology program with MRI specialization
- At least one year of experience as an MRI Technologist
- Valid state‑regulation compliant radiology/MRI license
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Current ARRT or equivalent certification
- Current ARMRIT or equivalent certification
- Other certifications and licenses as required for the position
Summary
The MRI Technologist operates MRI scanners to produce high‑quality 3‑D images, administers contrast media, and collaborates with radiologists and healthcare teams to provide accurate diagnostic results while maintaining equipment, safety protocols, and patient‑centered care.
Essential Work Functions
- Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications prior to procedure
- Educate patients on MRI procedures and answer questions
- Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot MRI equipment
- Start IVs and administer contrast media per protocol, monitoring patients
- Monitor image quality and adjust scanning parameters for optimal results
- Document all procedure details in compliance with hospital policies
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to ensure accurate imaging and timely results
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace in compliance with infection control and hospital policies
- Follow hospital safety rules and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of MRI Technologist
Required Essential Skills
