Job summary

TotalMed Allied seeks a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist for a travel assignment in Atlanta, GA. Candidates need at least 1 year of MRI experience, BLS, and ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification with registration where required. Responsibilities include patient prep, MRI safety screening, imaging, contrast administration, and PACS operation.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of experience.
• Must have BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging, and state-specific licensing when required.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required.
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance.
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions.
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Assist radiologist with procedure performance.
• Start IVs and administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately.
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration.
• Follow safety procedures when working with radiation.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.
