Job summary

TotalMed Allied in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a 13-week assignment. The MRI Tech will perform imaging, prep patients, and ensure quality images for physicians. The role requires 1 year of experience, BLS, and ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification with state licensing where required.

Responsibilities include patient processing, safety screening, image acquisition, contrast administration, and PACS workflow. Travel status with 12-hour day shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of MRI experience.
• BLS, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT National Certification with registration in magnetic resonance imaging, and state-specific licensing when required.
• MRI Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, and understand anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
• Screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions
• Position patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
• Assist radiologist with procedure performance
• Start I.V.s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
• Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
• Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administrationFollow safety procedures when working with radiation
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
