Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an MFM Sonographer for a high-risk OB ultrasound unit in the Boston area. The role requires at least 1 year of MFM experience and a minimum of 3 years total ultrasound experience.

The position involves performing comprehensive obstetric scans, using the Samsung Hera Z20, and supporting multidisciplinary teams in a high-volume setting. Day shifts, 13-week assignment, and local candidates within 60 miles are considered with a 5% local reduction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years ultrasound experience with at least 1 year in MFM.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• License required if applicable.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Strong obstetric imaging, measurement accuracy, and Doppler skills.
• Ability to maintain AIUM accreditation in imaging and documentation.

Responsibilities

• High-Risk OB ultrasound unit with 6 scanning rooms and one coordinator.
• Uses brand new Samsung Hera Z20 ultrasound machine.
• Performs comprehensive obstetric scans including NT and early anatomy, detailed second/third trimester surveys, growth and BPP assessments, multiple gestations, cervical length, placental evaluation, and Doppler studies.
• Supports evaluation of complex maternal/fetal conditions and abnormal findings.
• Supports fetal therapy and invasive procedures (amniocentesis, CVS, PUBS) performed by physicians.
• Anatomy scans: 45 minutes (90 minutes for twins); follow-ups: 30 minutes (60 minutes for twins).
• Day shift 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM; 13-week assignment.
• Provide compassionate, sensitive care to high-risk pregnancies while maintaining privacy and staying within scope of practice when explaining procedures.
• Accurately document exam data into EMR/PACS; collaborate with MFM physicians, radiologists, nurses, genetic counselors, and staff.
• Promptly communicate abnormal results to providers; bedside consults as needed.
• Flu vaccination required during flu season with no exemptions.
• Local Boston-area candidates within 60 miles; standard rate reduced by 5% for locals.
