Job description

Travel Medical Technologist in Lewiston, ID

This position involves performing various laboratory testing procedures to support patient care. The responsibilities include:

  1. Determining the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  2. Performing routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  3. Monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  4. Making technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  5. Preparing, testing, and evaluating new reagents or controls.
  6. Reporting accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
  7. Performing and documenting preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  8. Identifying and replenishing testing bench supplies as necessary.
  9. Assisting with specimen processing when needed.
  10. Maintaining a safe work environment and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
Position: Medical Lab Technologist

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
  • 0-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required; previous experience is preferred for Technologist level. ASCP or AMT certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.
  • High attention to detail, with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to pass a standardized color vision test.
