Travel Medical Technologist in Lewiston, ID
This position involves performing various laboratory testing procedures to support patient care. The responsibilities include:
- Determining the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
- Performing routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
- Making technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
- Preparing, testing, and evaluating new reagents or controls.
- Reporting accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
- Performing and documenting preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identifying and replenishing testing bench supplies as necessary.
- Assisting with specimen processing when needed.
- Maintaining a safe work environment and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
Position: Medical Lab Technologist
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
- 0-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required; previous experience is preferred for Technologist level. ASCP or AMT certification is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.
- High attention to detail, with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass a standardized color vision test.
