Job summary

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist (CLS) for a 13-week travel assignment in Metairie, LA. The role requires 40 hours per week on a night shift, using advanced lab equipment to analyze specimens and generate reports.

Qualifications

• Active certification through ASCP, AMT, HEW or AAB is required.
• Eighteen months of Medical Laboratory Technologist / Technician experience required.
• A state license may be required.
• Need to have a basic grasp of scientific laboratory procedures, including using laboratory equipment and generating reports from laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

• Test blood and bodily fluids using complex laboratory equipment.
• Examine specimens for bacteria, viruses or parasites.
• Measure levels of drugs or other chemicals in the blood to ensure therapeutic levels.
• Assess chemical content of blood to detect nutrient deficiencies or cholesterol/blood sugar issues.
• Follow lab protocols for analyzing, interpreting and delivering test results.
