Qualifications

• Active certification through ASCP, AMT, HEW or AAB is required.
• 18 months of Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician experience.
• State license may be required.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and reporting from tests.

Responsibilities

• Examine specimens for bacteria, viruses, or parasites.
• Measure levels of drugs or other chemicals in the blood to ensure therapeutic levels.
• Assess chemical content of blood for nutrients, cholesterol, or glucose imbalances.
• Operate cell counters, cultures, microscopes and other equipment.
• Follow lab protocol for analyzing, interpreting and delivering test results.
