Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med Surg/Tele RN for a night shift acute care assignment in Arizona. This role requires 2 years of MedSurg experience, ACLS/BLS, NIHSS, and an active AZ license. The shift is 12 hours with 36 hours per week, and patient ratios are 1:5 days, 1:6 nights, with pediatric acuity-based variations.

The unit supports telemetry on 10 beds in a Trauma Level 3 facility. Scrubs can be worn in any color; nurse managers will round without direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Active AZ or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required.
• NIHSS certification required.
• PALS certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of MedSurg acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Acute care MedSurg unit with telemetry capability on all 10 beds.
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:5 days, 1:6 nights, and 1-4 for pediatric patients based on acuity.
• Support staff includes tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs.
• Float to all MedSurg units and ICU to cover MedSurg overflow patients.
• Uses Allscripts EMR.
• Trauma Level 3 facility.
• Any color scrub permitted; scrubs not provided by facility.
• Nurse managers perform rounds but do not provide direct patient care.
• Limited to 3 cancellations per 13-week assignment.
