Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The assignment is 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week and a 12-hour night shift, in a travel capacity.

The right candidate will have 1–2 years of acute care experience, BLS certification, and be prepared to provide bedside care, medication administration, and patient/family education in a high-paced Med Surg setting.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for pre- and post-op patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and document administration.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs as needed.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and care plans.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education.
