Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a Kalamazoo, Michigan assignment on a surgical unit with day shifts. The role offers a 36-hour work week, three 12-hour shifts, and every other weekend/holiday.

Start date 01/12/2026 for 13 weeks, with Cerner charting, first-time travelers welcome, and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and travel reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active MI RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele experience.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility.

Responsibilities

• Work on a 46-bed Med/Surg Tele unit with trauma, post bariatric, abdominal, amputation, urological, and overflow cardiac/medical cases.
• Typical nurse to patient ratios 1:5-6, up to 1:7 with call-ins.
• Day shift with three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30.
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Cerner is used for charting.
• Unit is onboarding new travelers to support staff and reduce workload.
• Patient Care Tech (PCT) support available.
• First-time travelers are welcome.
