Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Tyler, Texas. The assignment is 13 weeks long, with a 36-hour work week and 12-hour day shifts.

The right RN should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and hold a BLS certification; additional certifications may be required before starting. This travel position involves bedside care, meds administration, dressings, IVs, and patient education.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates education plan.
