Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Tyler, Texas. The position runs for 13 weeks with 36 hours per week on a 12-hour daytime shift.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of acute care experience and must hold BLS; NIH certifications may be required before starting. Travel nurses will provide bedside care, meds, dressing changes, and patient education in a fast-paced Med-Surg/Telemetry setting.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS and NIH certifications may be required.
• 2 years of experience preferred for travel assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during exams and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and care.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education plans.
