American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift in North Carolina. The role requires an active NC or Compact RN license, BLS and ACLS, NIHSS or Stroke Certification, and at least 2 years of hospital nursing experience.

Local candidates within 75 miles may receive a reduced rate. Responsibilities include caring for adult and geriatric patients on the Med/Surg Tele unit, 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, and telemetery monitoring with IV therapy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hospital nursing experience
• NIHSS or Stroke Certification required
• Active NC or Compact RN license in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• EKG/Telemetry exam onsite
• 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions or declinations accepted

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system experience required
• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Tele unit setting including telemetry monitoring, wound care, and management of IV therapy
• Experience with GI, respiratory, genitourinary/renal, neurological, and cardiovascular patient populations preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Orientation sessions held biweekly
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
• Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have been employed within the last 6 months
• RTO requests limited to 5-7 days
