Job summary

TotalMed RN seeks a Medical Surgical RN for a travel assignment in El Paso, TX. The nurse will perform routine Med/Surg duties in a fast-paced setting, with a 13-week assignment and 36 hours per week, including nights. BLS and 1 year of acute care experience are required.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, medication administration, prep for procedures, and patient education. This role offers travel benefits and weekly pay through TotalMed RN.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• 1 year recent acute care experience
• Med/Surg RN background

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
