Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Glendale, Arizona. The role focuses on Med Surg patient care, including pre- and post-operative care, medication administration, and patient education.

The assignment spans 13 weeks with 36 hours per week in a 12-hour night shift. The RN will work in a fast-paced travel setting, adhere to safety procedures, and support discharge planning and patient education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Move, lift, and transfer patients as required within safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
