Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Redding, California.

The 13-week assignment offers 36 hours per week with night shifts on 12-hour rotations. The right RN should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and BLS certification to support patient assessments and education, under physician orders and discharge planning guidelines.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
