Job summary

TotalMed RN in Morgantown, WV is seeking a Med Surg Travel Nurse for a 13-week assignment with 48 hours per week, 12-hour nights. Immediate opening with 1–2 years of acute care experience preferred.

You will provide bedside care, administer medications, change dressings and start IVs, assist during exams, educate patients and families, and participate in discharge planning as prescribed by physicians.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience
• BLS and NIH certifications required
• Travel nurse experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and care.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan.
