Job summary

TotalMed is seeking a Med Surg RN for a travel assignment in Saint Louis, MO. This 13-week travel role offers a 12-hour night shift with 36 hours per week and a tax-free stipend TBD. The RN will perform bedside care, assess and treat patients, and participate in discharge planning.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and BLS certification. Additional certifications may be required; benefits include weekly pay and health coverage.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs as needed.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and post-care.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education per physician orders.
