Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Pocatello, Idaho. This assignment runs for 13 weeks with 36 hours per week, night shift, and a travel employment type.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience, BLS, and is prepared to provide comprehensive Med/Surg care, including assessments, medication administration, and discharge planning in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of acute care experience required.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required before assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for pre- and post-op patients and other Med/Surg cases.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs as ordered.
• Assist physicians during examinations and treatments and prepare equipment.
• Educate patients and families and participate in discharge planning.
