Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel assignment in Phoenix, AZ. You will join a 22-bed acute care Med/Surg unit, working 12-hour nights with emphasis on trauma experience and Cerner EMR.

Requirements include AZ or compact RN license, BLS, 2+ years Med/Surg, dysrhythmia exam, sterile technique, and ability to float across units. Benefits include day-one insurance, travel reimbursement, and per diem options.

Qualifications

• Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg experience.
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam (up to 2 attempts).
• Demonstrated competency in sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Must pass a SIMs Lab skills test during orientation.
• Telemetry experience preferred due to floating requirements.
• No first-time travelers will be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 22-bed acute care Med/Surg unit.
• Night shifts with 12-hour shifts and four weekend shifts per four weeks.
• Float to other med/surg and tele units as needed.
• Uses Cerner EMR system.
• No on-call requirement.
• Resource RN and charge RN present for additional support.
• RT assigned to the unit for respiratory care.
• Expected to perform SIMs Lab skills and maintain sterile field during procedures.
