Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for night coverage on a 23-bed Diabetic/Endocrine unit in a Texas hospital. The role requires one year of recent Med/Surg experience, a TX or compact RN license, and BLS certification.

The nurse will work nights (7p-7a) with a 1:5 patient ratio and may float to other acute care areas as needed. Candidates must have US SSN and date of birth for consideration, and references may be requested.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience.
• US SSN and date of birth required.
• Two professional references may be required for certain candidates.
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients on a 23-bed Diabetic/Endocrine unit in an acute care hospital.
• Work nights: 7pm–7am with 6 RNs and 1–2 PCTs per shift.
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5 and float to multiple acute care areas as needed.
• Provide general Med/Surg nursing care on a diabetic/endocrine unit.
• Adhere to royal blue scrub attire and use Meditech EMR.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius; local candidates not accepted.
