Job summary

TotalMed RN seeks a responsible Travel Nurse RN for Med Surg in Machias, Maine. The role focuses on comprehensive nursing care, rapid assessments, and patient education during a 13-week travel assignment with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience and current certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP). You’ll join a fast-paced team delivering high-quality care to diverse surgical and medical patients.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (assumed)
• 1 year of acute care experience
• Current BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for Med/Surg patients including pre- and post-op cases.
• Administer and record prescribed medications, report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs as needed.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and care plans.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education per physician orders.
