Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Waterbury, Connecticut. The Med Surg RN delivers comprehensive patient-centered care in medical-surgical and telemetry units and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to manage diverse patient needs.

You will assess patient health conditions, monitor telemetry data, and communicate effectively with patients and families while ensuring high standards of safety and ethics.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.
• ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification preferred.
• NIHSS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions and document changes.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and assist physicians during treatments.
• Maintain infection control practices and ensure patient safety.
• Coordinate discharge planning with patients, families and external resources.
