Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Paducah, Kentucky. The position is a 13-week assignment with a 36-hour work week and night shifts.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, and are prepared to perform bedside care, medication administration, dressings, catheter insertions, IV starts, and patient education. Travel experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Educate patients and families about procedures.
• Assist during examination and treatment.
