Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing seeks a travel nurse RN in Med Surg for a 13-week assignment in Waterloo, IA. Deliver high-quality patient care on medical-surgical units and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

ASAP start, 36 hours weekly, 12-hour days. Requires 1 year Med Surg RN, Iowa RN license, and BLS. NIHSS/ACLS preferred. Benefits include insurance, PTO, 401(k), and travel stipends.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience.
• Valid RN license in Iowa.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions, documenting changes and reporting concerns to the care team.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist clinicians during treatments, and monitor patient responses.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients in med-surg and telemetry units.
