Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Idaho Falls, Idaho. This travel role requires 1-2 years of acute care experience, 12-hour night shifts, and a 48-hour workweek.

The assignment is typically 13 weeks long with travel benefits available. The MedSurg RN will conduct patient assessments, administer medications, educate families, and participate in discharge planning, while working in a fast-paced setting caring for diverse patients across the surgical

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience required.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and care.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education plans.
