Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Med Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Gadsden, AL. This role offers 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts, with competitive pay and benefits.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of Med Surg experience, an active RN license, and current BLS certification. NIHSS/ACLS and additional credentials are preferred, with support from a dedicated clinical team.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients and families; ensure understanding
• Administer prescribed meds and treatments per nursing standards
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document changes
• Prepare patients for diagnostics; assist physicians during procedures
• Maintain safe, comfortable environment for post-procedure recovery
• Document vital signs, meds, treatments and outcomes in medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists and social workers on care plans
• Prioritize care for multiple patients based on acuity
• Ensure infection control practices and PPE usage
• Advocate for patient needs and preferences in care planning
• Coordinate discharge planning with patients, families and resources
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
• Adhere to safety, infection control and regulatory standards
