Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Casper, Wyoming. The MedSurg RN will conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection, perform ongoing assessments and treatments as ordered, and document findings while educating families.

This is a 13-week travel assignment with 36 hours per week, 12-hour days. The RN should have 1-2 years of acute care experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, and will work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Travel RN assignment in Casper, WY

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
