Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Med Surg travel nurse for a 13-week assignment in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This RN role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience and a BLS certification.

The position involves 12-hour day shifts, with a 36-hour workweek and travel responsibilities. You will perform patient assessments, document findings, administer medications, change dressings and start IVs, and participate in discharge planning and patient education.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS certification.
• travel nursing experience may be required.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for diverse Med Surg patients, including pre- and post-op cases.
• Administer prescribed medications, document administration, report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs as needed.
• Assist physician during examinations and treatment; prepare equipment.
